March 2014 update

Hi All,

Spring is finally getting here and that is great. It seems that the winter blahs get worse as the years go by.

Been doing lots of playing and am happy to note that my technique has gotten better. The new studio setup is working great and I have finally come up with a Drum sound I am happy with. Since I haven’t been working a full time day job, I have more time to be creative. I’ve been working on some more original material and am looking forward to recording it.

I tried a set of Tama drums recently. Didn’t like them. They had a clear tone, but were made out of Birch and lacked a lot of warmth and body. I thought they had a somewhat ‘mid-rangey’ sound which would be okay in certain situations. I took them back … still looking …

On the ‘thrill of a lifetime’ subject, I have been accepted to participate in a master class with drummer great, Dave Weckl!! That happens in May, so I will keep you posted!

Remember to support live music! Cheers!
