October 2014 Update

Hi All,

Doing lots of recording and mixing lately. Finished a new mix called ‘Don’t Belong on the Floor.’ It’s about a maniac drinker and addict who, finally decides to get his act together instead of always ending up on the floor.

Finally got my hands on the set of Mapex drums I have been looking at for the past year. They have Walnut and Maple shells (Saturn Series). I have ben using them for live gigs. I want to try them in the studio to see how they record up.

I had a 60th birthday in September and am now a certifiable ‘old guy.’ I can still sing lead vocals and play drums for a four hr. gig so I’m happy about that. I haven’t been doing much gigging lately but have been playing lots with different players and bands. Lots of fun! Sophie and the Shufflehounds are rehearsing and recording. KickbacK is doing the same.

On October 5 I played a benefit for the Breast Cancer foundation. It was the second year we have done it and had a gas once again! There were six different bands. Gigs like that are always fun because you get to see players you haven’t seen for a while. It was a very musical eventĀ for a very worthy cause.

That’s about it for this update. Remember to support live music!
