Tomorrow is the first “official” rehearsal for myself as the new drummer for Sophie and the Shufflehounds. I’m looking forward to a new playing experience.
KickbacK will still be going. There will be enough opportunities to gig with both bands. I won’t be doing as many lead vocals, so that will be different. I expect to do lots of back ups though.
I met another player at the Gas Pump jam and he may be able to come on Wed. do some jamming at the KickbacK rehearsal. He’s a Sax/Keyboard player with a lot of experience. Should be fun!
I have the latest mix of “I Don’t Belong on the Floor” almost done. I will put the new mix up soon!
Hi All – Happy 2013!
Well, the New Years gig went very well, in spite of the fact that I was very ill with a terrible flu bug. It was the first time in my career that I couldn’t sing. We did a lot more country tunes and Howard the guitar player along with the “featured” young female vocalist filled in doing the vocals. It all worked quite well.
Mike from “Sophie and the Shufflehounds,” called last week and we confirmed a couple of gigs I will do with them. He had mentioned doing some recording in my studio to promote the band. Noel from”Downbeat Daddy,” has had a book published and wants to do some recording in the studio for promo. Should be interesting.
I would like to do some more recording this year and it seems like I may indeed.
See ya’ll next time!
