What's New

Well, here we are. February is almost gone and my wife and I are off to Mexico for a couple of weeks beginning in March.

The new band is going well. We did a gig at a club called “The Leaf,” last week and the first two sets in particular were really good. I can see where the “Shufflehound” project could work out well. We had a rehearsal yesterday and smoothed out a few more arrangements.

KickbacK has been rehearsing as usual. I invited a Sax player out to jam with KickbacK and what a blast! We did a lot more Jazz type stuff which was quite alright. I have been fortunate to meet some good musicians and good people lately.

Mike Chenowith asked me if I could fill in for Fred Brown, the drummer at the Gas Pump jam in late summer for three weeks. I don’t really like doing jams but, it is another chance to play. …and it pays! WooHoo!

Hope to do some jamming in Mexico as I had last year. I’ll let you know how I made out when I get back!

Bye for now!

Tomorrow is the first “official” rehearsal for myself as the new drummer for Sophie and the Shufflehounds. I’m looking forward to a new playing experience.

KickbacK will still be going. There will be enough opportunities to gig with both bands. I won’t be doing as many lead vocals, so that will be different. I expect to do lots of back ups though.

I met another player at the Gas Pump jam and he may be able to come on Wed. do some jamming at the KickbacK rehearsal. He’s a Sax/Keyboard player with a lot of experience. Should be fun!

I have the latest mix of “I Don’t Belong on the Floor” almost done. I will put the new mix up soon!
