DECEMBER 2020
December 2020
Well, what a year that was! I did a bit of jamming in between the first and second wave of Covid-19 but that’s about it for playing music. The Bass player for my band, “The Grey Men” went to the U. K. for Christmas and now is stuck over there due to travel restrictions. Don’t know when he’ll be back! My friend Howard (the Guitar player) and I are still writing and recording. Been having problems with my website and have’t been able to post any new material. It doesn’t seem to be recognizing any of my tunes! Looking into that.
There’s been a lot of ‘down’ this year but on the ‘up’, my wife and I are staying safe and healthy. Friends and family too. My wife and I go walking everyday down by the river and are thankful to be able to get out of the house everyday.
I’m wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! On to better things in 2021!
August 2020
Wow! What a change to our world since the last time I updated. I was looking forward to gigging, rehearsing, teaching … doing all the things a musician does. I have not done a gig since February and have just gotten back to rehearsing with my band, “The Grey Men”. Luckily, I have enough space in my studio to allow for social distancing between myself and the other guys. We did get together to do a performance/jam ‘live’ from my garage a couple of Saturdays ago. That was very good. We all had a lot of fun. When you are a musician you love and want to play!
Been teaching online lessons since March. It’s doable but not ideal. Welcome to the new reality. Resonate Music is going to be back to in house lessons this month. I have chosen to continue doing lessons online. Don’t know if I’ll have any students left as they may choose to go back to in person lessons! We’ll see.
Thomas Alexander band is getting back to rehearsals also. I’m rehearsing with that band, but only every 2 or 3 weeks.
Covid-19 has made us realize a new world. I’m 65 years old and never thought I would see such a dramatic change to EVERYONES world. Hope we get back to a semblance of ‘normal life’ sooner than later. Stay safe and healthy everyone.
